At Anchor Long Creek, Wolfe Island

Wolfe Island is a great small boat anchorage in the approaches to Ship Harbour. We generally take two full days to sail from Halifax Harbour. With the general prevailing wind it is a down wind run on a reach nearly the whole way making for a pleasant trip.

The "Crick" (Long Creek) is a well protected bay in the center of the island with a great sandy bottom with good holding. The water here is some of the clearest I've ever seen in Nova Scotia as I could pretty much see our anchor in 20 feet of water, an unusual experience for me in these waters. Inside the Crick there is a nice small beach where you can land your tender and go ashore. There are often picnickers and campers from the mainland here who come out for the weekends. There are also a few good sites for campfires on shore. There are also a few remote summer cottages here.

There are no services in this anchorage, however there are services nearby at a campground on Murphy Road (3nm north), and even more services in Ship Harbour (5-6nm North West) of the island.
