VEUTUMBOSO BAY

Veutumboso Bay (Avreas Bay) (13°54'S., 167°28'E.) lies on the SW side of Vanua Lava Island, 3 miles N of Ngeuseu Mbeuit Point (Paut Point). The bay affords shelter against winds from N through E to SSE. A house, situated on a hill above the black lava rocks, is conspicuous from seaward, but is hidden from the anchorage. Vessels may obtain anchorage, in 18.3 to 28m, in any part of the bay, at about 0.3 mile from the shore. Islands East and North of Vanua Lava Island
