Rota Naval Fuel Depot (Rota Naval Base) (36°37'N., 6°19'W.) (World Port Index No. 38280) is situated on the N side of the bay, 1.5 miles E of the town. The depot is leased to the U. S. Navy and consists of an artificial harbor enclosed by two converging breakwaters.
