The River Wye (5137'N., 240'W.) discharges into the River Severn at Beachley Point. Chepstow is situated 2 miles above the river entrance where a railroad bridge spans the river. Two overhead cables, with a minimum vertical clear ance of 16.8m, span this river between Chepstow and the Severn Bridge.
