The coast for 7 miles NE and 16 miles SW of the mouth of the Reka Kronotskaya (54°31'N., 160°45'E.) is low and sandy. The mouth of the river is difficult to distinguish from the offing. An oval shaped hill, 229m high, and a fairly conspicuous hill, 311m high, located 7.5 miles and 10.5 miles NNE, respectively, of the mouth of the river, in line bearing 016°, lead to a position about 1.2 miles E of the mouth of Reka Kronotskaya.
