Numerous wrecks, some dangerous, lie offshore between Porto Cesario and Gallipoli and may best be seen on the chart. Porto di Gallipoli (40°03'N., 17°59'E.) World Port Index No. 40480 16.24 The port of Gallipoli consists of a harbor which lies on the N side of a low promontory and is protected by moles.
