Port Macquarie (31°26'S., 152°55'E.) (World Port Index No. 53560), at the entrance of the Hastings River, is entered between Green Mound and Pelican Point. The town is situated on the S side of the entrance. Two towers, with elevations of 75m and 61m, stand in the middle of the town. The wharves in the port are no longer in use, and vessels berth at Hibbard, a town on the S side of the river, 5 miles within the entrance.
