OBERON POINT

Four bays, separated by Leonard Point, Pillar Point, and Norman Point, lie SE of Tongue Point. Oberon Bay is entered betweenOberon Point (39°05'S., 146°19'E.) and Norman Point, about 1.5 miles N, and affords the best anchorage; it lies at the W end of the valley between Wilson Range and Boulder Range. None of the bays can be recommended due to the prevalence of SW winds, and a SW gale may spring up suddenly. Oberon Bay has a broad sandy beach upon which the sea breaks heavily.
