KHERSONISOS PALAIOKHORA

Khersonisos Palaiokhora (35°14'N., 23°41'E.), located 2 miles E of Akra Trakhalo, is a low and flat peninsula sur mounted by the walls of a ruined fort. A village is situated on the E side of the low isthmus which connects the peninsula to the mainland. A conspicuous white church, with a red dome, and a prominent spire stand close N of the village. A shallow boat harbor fronts the E side of the peninsula and is protected by a mole. It is used by small craft and fishing boats. A cove on the W side of the peninsula affords anchorage to small vessels with local knowledge.
