Wellbore Channel separates Hardwicke Island from the mainland and leads to Chancellor Channel. It is deep and pre sents no problems, provided a mid channel course is main tained. Jesse Island (50°28'N., 126°02'W.), 40m high and sparsely wooded, lies close to the N shore of the strait, about 1 mile W of Tuna Point. The passage leading N of this island may be used by small craft.
