ILE DES OISEAUX

The estuary of the River Gambia lies between Ile des Oiseaux (13°40'N., 16°40'W.) and Bald Cape (13°23'N., 16°47'W.). It is 17 miles wide at its W limit, but is reduced to a width of 9 miles between Cape St. Mary and Buniada Point.
