GUANAJA

Guanaja (16°26'N., 85°54'W.) (World Port Index No. 9710), a small settlement, stands on Sheen Cays, 0.3 mile off the SE side of the island. Some of the buildings stand on piles around the cays. In 1953, the controlling depth in the approach channels and entrance was 9.1m. In 1948, a vessel with a draft of 6.7m entered and anchored within 0.3 mile of the piers. Three small piers off the settlement have depths of 3 to 5.5m alongside.
