FLINDERS PASSAGE

The seaward entrance of Flinders Passage (18°55'S., 148°00'E.) lies to the E of the reef located with its N extremity in position 18°44'S, 147°58'E. The general direction of the channel is nearly N and S. It is about 20 miles long and from 1.5 to 7.5 miles wide, and bounded on either side by reefs.
