Ceyhan Nehri (36°35'N., 35°34'E.) discharges into Iskenderun Korfezi, 12 miles SW of the SW entrance point of Yumurtalik Limani. This river is marked by high reeds along its banks and surf on the entrance bar. Depths on the bar vary, being 3 to 4.9m. The river is about 70m wide and is navigable by boats for 24 miles, but it cannot be entered during SE winds. Considerably lesser depths than charted may exist in the vicinity of the river mouth and vessels should give it a wide berth.
