Carrigaholt Bay (5236'N., 942'W.), N of Kilcredaun Point (5235'N., 941'W.), provides secure anchorage during W winds, but a short sea sets up with winds from the opposite quadrant. During SW gales, a long rolling swell sets in around Kilcredaun Point.
