Vessels can also anchor in suitable depths anywhere around the island, but care must be taken to avoid the vicinity of the submarine cables indicated on the chart. Bajo Cumberland (34°57'S., 55°57'W.), with a least depth of 5.5m, is about 0.5 mile WSW of the island.
