ALIITE ISLAND

The Three Sisters Islands consists of Aliite Island (Ahiti Island) (10°08'S., 161°55'E.), the N island, 76m high; Malaulalo, the middle island, 70m high; and Malaupaina, the S and largest, 70m high. These densely wooded and marshy islands are uninhabited, but are occasionally visited by fishermen from San Cristobal Island. The islands, except for the N and E coasts of Aliite Island, are fringed by a reef extending 0.25 to 0.5 mile offshore.
