Advocate Bay (45°20'N., 64°47'W.), between Cape Chignecto and Cape D'Or, about 7.5 miles ESE, affords good anchorage in depths less than 28m with N winds, but vessels using it should exercise caution if the wind shifts to the S, when it frequently veers to the W and increases in force. Advocate Harbour, on the NE side of the bay, is muddy, dries, and is protected from the S by a natural wall of stones, 3m high. Near the E end of the wall, there is an entrance through which small vessels can enter at HW. A light is shown from the S side of the entrance to the harbor. A lighted bell buoy is moored about 0.8 mile W of the light.
