Anchorage.The recommended anchorage for large vessels in Batemans Bay is in 9.1 to 10.9m, sand bottom, about 0.3 mile WSW of Acheron Ledge (35°44'S., 150°15'E.). Deepdraft vessels anchor, in 16.5m, about 2 miles N of South Head. The mariner should be cautioned that a heavy ground swell may be experienced at the anchorages, and the sea will break in the bay under the influence of strong E of SE winds.
