Burg Fort (Abu Qir) (31°20'N., 30°04'E.), which is conspicuous, is situated 11 miles NE of the E harbor at Al Iskandariyah. The coast between is fronted by small islets, rocks, and shoals which extend up to 1.3 miles offshore in places.
