Brent Newsome, President & CEO - A computing scientist by education, a network, system administrator and finally manager by day, and a navy trained part-time sailor in big and small boats in his spare time. Brent is responsible for the technical design of the web-site and its routine operation.

Erika Newsome, Vice-President & COO - Educated as an information management specialist, domestic engineer to a family of three boys, and a part-time boater who, while preferring powered craft, follows her husband to sea in sailboats. Erika is responsible for managing the content of the site, reviewing submissions and keeping things catalogued correctly.

Our Boat - Te Aroha - a 31' Sloop Rigged Folk Boat that cruises the Eastern and Southern Shore of Nova Scotia. Te Aroha is currently in Dry Dock this summer for a new deck.

Why Create This Site?

Over the last few years, we spent a lot of our time planning our coastal cruises. As technologists we turned to the web to research potential anchorages and routes. After spending a great deal of time browsing the web trying find new and interesting anchorages to visit in our local area, we finally concluded there was very little information available. The result was an idea to create a website dedicated to gathering up all of the worlds anchorages in one location so anyone can search and plan.

Its our hope that this site will grow as our users contribute their favorite locations. We have begun by gathering up all the information we could find from our own local knowledge, local cruising guides and sailing/cruising magazines. If you have a favorite spot or a recommended location to drop the hook we hope you will consider taking a few minutes to contribute.

This site is a hobby, we have other careers that pay the bills.
